Free Eye Exam Event Recap

Supporting Community Health & Access to Care

November 17, 2025 — Village Church

Access to vision care is essential for learning, working, and daily life — yet many families in our community face financial or coverage barriers. On November 17, 2025, members of the Oregon Rohingya Myanmar Muslim Society (ORMMS) were invited by Village Church to participate in a Free Eye Exam and Free Eyeglasses Event, providing critical eye health support at no cost.

This opportunity ensured that individuals who often struggle to access healthcare — including refugees, immigrants, low-income families, and those without insurance — received services that directly impact quality of life.

🏥 What Our Community Received

During the event, participants were able to access:

  • Comprehensive eye exams

  • Prescription eyeglasses for those who qualified

  • Vision screenings & wellness information

  • Support in a respectful, welcoming environment

For many, this was their first time receiving an eye exam in the United States — a meaningful step toward improved health, education, and daily functioning.

Eye health affects everything: seeing clearly at school, reading important documents, navigating daily routines, and overall well-being.By connecting our families to this service, we are helping:
