Active Youth Program

Youth Programs in the Community

ORMMS offers youth program support to help the Rohingya, Myanmar, immigrant and refugees community engagement to empower their new life in Oregon.

This program is designed to support immigrant and refugee families through culturally grounded activities that strengthen identity, wellness, and community connection. Our Active Youth Program engages children and teens in soccer, fitness, and teamwork-building activities that promote health and confidence. The Youth Cultural Class helps children preserve their Rohingya and Burmese language, traditions, and values while building pride in their heritage. The Women’s Empowerment Program provides leadership workshops, wellness support, and community-building activities for mothers and women. Together, these programs foster belonging, resilience, and future leadership for families rebuilding their lives in Oregon.

Cultural Class

The ORMMS Youth Cultural Class helps children under 13 strengthen their cultural identity, language skills, and connection to the community. Through weekly lessons in Rohingya and Burmese traditions, language, religious studies, and creative activities, youth gain a deeper understanding of who they are and where they come from. The program is taught by bilingual community volunteers, ensuring cultural relevance and trust. Many immigrant and refugee parents want to preserve their heritage while supporting their children’s success in the U.S. This program bridges that gap, building pride, confidence, and leadership in our youth while fostering friendships and intergenerational connection.
