About The Event
About the Event
Join the Oregon Rohingya Myanmar Muslim Society (ORMMS) for a free, community-focused Health Literacy Workshop in collaboration with students from the OHSU I-CAN Program.
This workshop is designed to support immigrant and refugee families in better understanding the U.S. healthcare system and making informed decisions about their health. Through simple, clear, and culturally responsive guidance, participants will gain practical knowledge they can use in their daily lives.
Topics will include preventive care and annual check-ups, managing stress and overall wellness, understanding basic health concepts and screenings, communicating effectively with healthcare providers, and navigating healthcare services in the United States. The session will also highlight nutrition, healthy lifestyle habits, and disease prevention.
This is a welcoming and interactive space where community members can ask questions, share experiences, and learn together. Language support will be available to ensure accessibility for all participants.
Everyone is welcome. Bring your family and join us as we work together to build a healthier, more informed community.
