⚽ ORMMS Soccer Team Competing in Division 1: Building Youth Leadership Through Sports

At Oregon Rohingya Myanmar Muslim Society (ORMMS), youth development is at the heart of our mission. We are proud to share that the ORMMS Soccer Team is competing in Division 1, the highest and most competitive level within the league.

🏆 What Does Division 1 Mean?

Division 1 represents the top level of competition, where teams demonstrate advanced skills, discipline, teamwork, and consistent performance. Playing in Division 1 means our youth are competing against some of the strongest teams in the league, pushing themselves to grow both on and off the field.

🌱 More Than a Game

For ORMMS, soccer is not just about winning matches. It is a powerful tool for youth development, leadership, and community connection. Through the soccer program, our youth gain:

  • Confidence and self-discipline

  • Teamwork and communication skills

  • Physical and mental well-being

  • Positive mentorship and role models

  • A sense of belonging and pride in representing their community

Many of our players come from immigrant and refugee backgrounds, and participation in competitive sports provides a safe, supportive space to build resilience and life skills.

🤝 Strengthening Community Through Sports

The ORMMS Soccer Team brings families together on and off the field. Parents, siblings, and community members gather to support our youth, creating strong bonds and shared pride. Competing in Division 1 shows what is possible when young people are supported, encouraged, and given opportunities to thrive.

🌍 Looking Ahead

ORMMS remains committed to expanding youth programs that promote healthy lifestyles, leadership development, and community empowerment. Our Division 1 soccer team is a reflection of the dedication of our players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters.

We are incredibly proud of our youth — they are not just athletes, but future leaders.
