Empowering Our Future: ORMMS Youth Soccer Program Launch

Updated: Apr 25

The Oregon Rohingya Myanmar Muslim Society (ORMMS) is proud to announce the launch of our youth soccer training program, a community-driven initiative designed to support and empower young people from Rohingya and Myanmar refugee families.

At ORMMS, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to play, grow, and succeed—regardless of financial barriers. Many families in our community face economic challenges that limit access to organized sports and extracurricular activities. Through this program, ORMMS works to remove those barriers by fully supporting participating youth.

Our program provides:

  • Soccer registration support

  • Equipment and uniforms

  • A safe, inclusive, and culturally supportive training environment

However, this initiative is about much more than soccer. It is about building confidence, strengthening teamwork, and developing leadership skills among our youth. Through regular training and team activities, participants gain not only physical health benefits but also a sense of belonging and personal growth.

We are committed to investing in the next generation—helping young people build resilience, confidence, and strong community connections. By supporting our youth today, we are shaping a stronger, more empowered community for tomorrow.

Together, we are making an impact—one child, one goal, and one future at a time.
