Educational Sponsorship Opportunity for Students

The Oregon Rohingya Myanmar Muslim Society (ORMMS) is pleased to share an important educational opportunity for families in our community. Muslim Educational Trust (MET) will be offering a limited number of student sponsorships for the upcoming 2026–2027 academic year, beginning in September 2026.

About Muslim Educational Trust (MET)

Founded in 1993 by Wajdi Said, Gail Ramjan, and Ayoob Ramjan, Muslim Educational Trust (MET) is a trusted nonprofit organization that has served the Portland community for over 30 years. MET is dedicated to strengthening education, youth development, and community connection, with a strong commitment to supporting immigrant and refugee families.

A Holistic Approach to Education

MET provides a unique educational model that combines Islamic values with strong academic and STEM learning. This approach helps students grow both academically and personally—preparing them to succeed in diverse global environments while staying grounded in their cultural and religious identity.

Programs Offered

MET operates a range of educational programs designed to support students at different stages:

• 🏫 Islamic School of MET (PK–5)

• 🎓 Oregon Islamic Academy (Grades 6–12)

• 📚 Weekend schools, Quranic studies, Arabic, and STEM programs

• 🤝 Youth development programs through Oregon Muslim Youth (OMY)

Their schools are fully accredited and recognized for strong academic performance, including a high college acceptance rate among graduates.

Sponsorship Opportunity

Through this sponsorship opportunity, eligible students may receive support to access quality education in a culturally and spiritually supportive environment.
