Celebrating Knowledge and Faith: ORMMS Islamic Teaching Class Graduation at Masjid Omar Farooq

The Oregon Rohingya Myanmar Muslim Society (ORMMS) proudly celebrated the graduation of students who completed the Islamic Teaching Program, bringing together students, families, and community members from across East Portland. The graduation ceremony was held at Masjid Omar Farooq, marking a joyful day of learning, faith, and community unity.

Honoring Our Students’ Achievements

This special event recognized the dedication and hard work of ORMMS students who successfully completed their Islamic studies. Throughout the program, students learned:

• Qur’an reading and memorization

• Daily prayers and essential duas

• Basic Islamic knowledge and values

• Good character, respect, and responsibility

During the ceremony, students participated in Qur’an recitation and received certificates in front of their proud families and community members.

A Community Celebration in East Portland

The graduation was not only a student achievement but also a celebration for the entire East Portland community. Families from Rohingya, Burmese, and other Muslim backgrounds gathered to support the children and celebrate their progress.

ORMMS is honored to serve students and families across East Portland by providing culturally responsive and community-led Islamic education that helps youth stay connected to their faith while growing up in the United States.
